The Commissionerate of Collegiate Education, Telangana, and Launch Girls partner on a three-year programme that will support female students from their first year of college through graduation and into their transition to employment, entrepreneurship, or higher education.
The Commissionerate of Collegiate Education, Government of Telangana, in partnership with Launch Girls, launched a three-year Career Readiness Programme for female students across 43 government degree and autonomous colleges in the state.
The initiative responds to a critical gap between education and economic participation. While more young women are entering higher education, female workforce participation remains low in India. According to the Periodic Labour Force Survey Annual Report 2025, only 40% of women aged 15+ are in the labour force, compared to 79.1% of men in 2025.1
Beginning with first-year students in 2026–27, the programme will run alongside their academic studies and help them build foundational skills such as confidence, effective communication, financial and digital literacy, and strategic thinking.
The programme was formally launched in the presence of Prof. P. Balabhaskar, Joint Director, Commissionerate of Collegiate Education; Rajendra Singh, Joint Director, Commissionerate of Collegiate Education; and Prof. V. Rajendra Prasad, Academic Guidance Officer, Commissionerate of Collegiate Education.

“This programme reflects our commitment to ensuring that young women leave college not only with degrees, but also with the confidence, skills, and opportunities needed to build independent and meaningful futures. By supporting students from their first year in college to graduation, we are strengthening the role of higher education in preparing young women for the world beyond college.”

The programme and partnership mark a significant step towards embedding career readiness within the government college experience and strengthening the economic participation of young women across Telangana.
